James Patterson will visit the UK in April 2009 to promote the 'James Patterson Extreme Reading Challenge', designed to encourage children to read with their fathers or male carers. The campaign, to be launched in more than 3,000 UK schools as part of World Book Day, invites children and their male guardians to take photographs of themselves in unusual locations, with a visit to the largest space centre in Europe, in Sweden, as first prize.
The Challenge is being run by the National Literacy Trust with Random House, Patterson's UK publisher.
